Frequently Asked Questions

Because sometimes, clarity is a kind of comfort.

Do I need to be a writer to submit?

Not at all. We welcome your truth in whatever form it takes—bullet points, journal entries, scattered thoughts. Just give us the bare bones. We’ll give it voice.

Will my name be published?

Never. Every story is told in the collective voice of The Anywoman Collective®, preserving complete anonymity. We do not collect or publish names.

Can I remain completely anonymous?

Yes. The only reason we ask for an email is to notify you if your story is selected. Your email is never shared, sold, or published. We encourage you to use any of the available ‘hide my email’ applications widely available to keep your identity secure.

What happens after I submit?

If your story is selected, we’ll shape it into a lyrical, symbolic narrative and notify you when it’s published. You may also choose to purchase an Echo Edition—a longer, keepsake version of your story with original artwork.

Will I be compensated if my story is used?

No. Submissions are not paid or compensated. What you share is considered a gift to the Collective. While we may offer paid products—like Echo Editions or future printed collections—this revenue helps us sustain the space and share more women’s stories. Your contribution is part of a larger circle of storytelling and healing.

What exactly am I consenting to when I submit my story?

By checking the consent box, you agree to:
• Let The Anywoman Collective gently reshape your submission into a lyrical, anonymous narrative
• Allow us to publish your story—on our blog or in future print or digital collections
• Understand that artistic license may be used to symbolically revoice your story for deeper emotional resonance

You retain full rights to your original submission.
The version we create becomes a new, original interpretation—an expression of your truth held and shaped by us.

The Anywoman Collective®  retains full copyright to the reworked version. It may not be republished elsewhere, but you’re welcome to share a link to its published form or your personal keepsake edition.

What’s the difference between the Whisper Version and the Echo Edition?

• Whisper Version (Free): A softly shaped, anonymous version published on our blog
• Echo Edition (Paid): A longer, more immersive retelling with symbolic artwork, offered as a downloadable PDF or a printed keepsake set

Can I submit a story on someone else’s behalf?

Yes. You can share a story for someone you love—perhaps your mother, sister, or friend—and gift them an Echo Edition as a tribute to their journey.

Will I see or approve the final version before it’s published?

No. Submissions are entrusted to the Collective, with the understanding that they may be reimagined through a symbolic, lyrical lens. If that doesn’t feel right to you, simply do not check the consent box at the time of submission.

Can I submit more than once?

Absolutely. Many women carry more than one truth. Submit as often as you feel called.

Are there submissions that may be declined?

While we honor a wide range of experiences, we may gently decline stories that:

  • Include names or identifying details
    • Contain hate speech, graphic violence, or exploitation
    • Lack a clear emotional thread or center

This is a space for sacred truth. We ask that what you offer is your own lived experience, shared from the heart.
